I had a problem after one pro shoot, as second shooter, recently when the Pro called me up after the shoot to say he couldn't open one of my cards - though it seemed the files were there. I tried and failed to open it via all other means then remembered that if any single file is faulty then subsequent files won't open either. If it's the first one (as happened with my card) then it stops all subsequent files from opening .... so I deleted the first file on the card and hey presto .. . the files now opened as they should. This may be worth a try.

Other than that, since Tim has shown the files are still there, there are many specialist file recovery companies that can get your files off the card for you.

Talking of colours Frogfish..... Have you ever tried desaturating selective colours. you can get some nice effects that realyl suit some shots without going as far as the "hideous colour popping".

I also forget to mention I love the Police shot. It's not your typical culture street shot like the others are and such as a scene not seen so often.

In fact I bet there's some great night shots to be had around your neck of the world.
No I haven't - that sounds a very interesting technique. I'll have to Google it to see how to do it with Aperture. Thanks for the tip.

Police - glad you liked it, I've another side-on but didn't like the look I got from him so no head-on shot

Yep, some amazing night scenes here - Shanghai is always alive no matter the time of day or night .... and it's quite safe to wander around too !

Ah one of my daughter's favourite clubbing haunts ! Nice set - looks like a great place for a shoot. #2 - lines, maybe use the pedestrian walkway as a cue as it doesn't look straight ?

Remember that if you think you may have to straighten a shot, or correct distortion from a wide lense, then leave yourself lots of room by shooting wider than necessary as you'll lose 10-15% off the extremes when correcting.

In the light of day (as compared to last night when I processed these) I think Dave (and Stefan) is(are) as least partially right re. The Cobbler, too much colour, I'll desaturate and repost that one. The 'clutter' though is an integral part of the scene and is in fact what attracted me to this guy in particular !

Thanks Smeggy ! Yep, no mask ! Actually he finished as I was positioning myself for the shot and his boss came out to ask me what I was doing, I explained my interest and he instructed his employee to start work again so I could get the shot !

Thank you Don !

He's one more I forgot to post earlier :

The Rubbish Collector
