I used to use the full suite from Symmantec many years ago (bloatware plus !), then moved on to AVG but found it slowed the PC to a crawl, next used Panda but that got to be too expensive/invasive. I've now been using the free programs Avast + Zone Alarm on WinXP for the past 2 years and they work well.

I've had the same happen to me a couple of times. Found that by re-mounting the lens I got it unstuck.

I have four genuine adapters and only one gives any problem. I now use that one permanently mounted to a lens I don't use too often and it works fine. Seems the machining of these adapters can vary a little causing distortion and thus jamming.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. To have an animal share your life for eight years and then suddenly.... Keep the fond memories with you and move on.

I've plonked this in the Class. Ads. section. Hope that's acceptable !

Short while ago I responded to an old thread for an Espio 200 as spares - didn't get any response so someone else may be interested. The camera has been dropped and has suffered a little damage to the plastic casing around the flash. I understand it was in good working order and it still operates the auto lens function on startup (includes battery and nice custom soft leather case). Best I can say is suitable for spares/repair.

Free for the cost of postage. Located in Greece - postage to UK likely to be about £5-7.

PM if interested.

Sorry for not getting back to you - most impolite

I did seriously consider this as an aid for the poor old failing eyesight but I have the feeling that I would be swapping one problem for potentially another.

Interested in the Pentax OME-53 Loupe for my GX20 camera but I wear specs. and I read somewhere that this can be troublesome when looking through the viewfinder. Any comments on this ?

For compact/pocket use I have two cameras.

#1 an old Sony Cybershot P10 (5MP) with some nice manual controls, 3X zoom, 1" screen , opt. vfdr., flash, + movie clips, etc. This has seen a lot of location use, has amazing IQ, and is also small enough to take to places where one has to be discrete.

#2 is my Pany Lumix FZ8. Whether the lens is genuine Leica or not, it has produced some stunning pics. I would say on par with many good DSLR optics. Of course the BIG downside is the noise (forget anything above 400 ISO).

Thus I have reasonable pocket and bridge cameras for back-up. If either of these were to be 'lost' - no tears.

"I tried to get a few non-tourist type shots of the Acropolis"

You certainly achieved that. Your shots are a pleasant departure from the usual hackneyed views one sees.

Your management of viewpoint and composition add much to what is in reality, a pile of stones. Very difficult to avoid including people in any views in and around the site. Also, you chose the right day as a cloudy sky is always a rarity here during the tourist season. Well done

Firstly, this post is a bit of a gamble as the original thread is now so old. However, ......

I've just come across a Espio 200 which has been dropped and, as far as I am able to ascertain, is beyond economic repair. If the original poster
(bobbrakes) can contact me I would be willing to donate this to help fix his camera. Thanks.

I am also in the market for a decent flash unit and interested in the recommmended Metz, as above. I was considering the new Sigma EF530 Super (from SRS @ £159) which appears to be fully Pentax PTTL compatible.

Any opinions on this as opposed to the Metz ? Thanks.
