For general vinyl, cassettes and CD's I still use a Pioneer system (circa 1980) with Thorens turntable and Shure cartridge. Very sweet and delicate sound. I also have a 1975 Marantz M30 Amp. connected to the TV output and feeding into two RAM monitors. All old stuff but difficult to emulate today.

Also remember building my own stereo speakers in the 70's - plans courtesy of Wharfedale. Those were the days!!

It's the lens that stays on my GX-20 for most of the time. My travel kit, usually the 16-45, Pentax A 50mm f/1.7 and the 55-200mm kit lens.

I've found it to be a very capable performer (better than the Mk1 18-55 kit) on the GX20 and certainly more so than on my earlier GX10. A feature I've often found useful over time is the near-macro focusing which of course the kit lens lacks.

The lens has it's foibles, but IMO it's definately a worthy upgrade. It's testimony to it's overall quality that it's been in production for so long. Pentax must have sold many thousands over the years.

I've been using FastStone as a default viewer/editor for some time and found it be a reliable and effective program for quick editing (especially on a Laptop).

I must say that I'm so far very pleased with this new version - the 'Auto Colour Adjust' gives absolutely amazing first-time results and is one of the best versions of this feature I've come across (all due to the skill of the above mentioned author). The Clone and Healing Brush has been a long time coming but now makes it a top free program IMO. It's shaping up to be a fine piece of software in it's own right.

PS. Try the USM (UnSharp Mask) - you will like that!

I have both the GX10 and GX20 cameras - so far I've not had any problems or need for repair. However, if I did then I fear I might be in a similar position.

I have little confidence in Samsung after-sales support and this is based on some experience with a faulty DVD Recorder/Player and a Mobile phone - both of which were reported by Samsung as irreparable (after only about 2 years of use).

This company seems to be 'sales only' orientated with a throw-away mentality when it comes to service. Just consider the tardy approach to Firmware updating for example!

You might then ask why I've stuck with Samsung? Well, I mostly spend my time in Greece and Samsung is still a better option than Pentax for support.
