We have just got back from a weeks holiday on Icaria, birthlace of Icarus, and scene of his fatal crash. The first day though we spent in Athens, and I tried to get a few non-tourist type shots of the Acropolis.
C+C welcome!

1 and 3 really grab me. The light makes number 1, and the angle makes number 3. Nice work.

One and Three for me Jon - the moody light in 1 is excellent. So are the composition and choice of focal length for both these.

Thanks for the comments: the glow you see Iqbal was a bit of flare I think.

The lighting is very nice in all of them and they all feel fresh, very good set of photos.

Very nice set AG, I like all of them!

I can also see the glow at the edge of the two outermost columns in 1, I usually get that sort of glow when I've reduced the sky highlights a bit too much.

1 & 3 for me. I like the way the columns in 3 seem to drag you up to the sky.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

"I tried to get a few non-tourist type shots of the Acropolis"

You certainly achieved that. Your shots are a pleasant departure from the usual hackneyed views one sees.

Your management of viewpoint and composition add much to what is in reality, a pile of stones. Very difficult to avoid including people in any views in and around the site. Also, you chose the right day as a cloudy sky is always a rarity here during the tourist season. Well done

I think the glow is perhaps from a levels adjustment, also the shot was a jpeg, I shot a load of pics before realising I was shooting jpegs.

I managed to avoid people but cloned out a fence and about ten lights from the foreground of the temple shot!

Thanks for the comments!
