I would go the opposite and desaturate somewhat, especially the table and pattern on the vase.

The basic idea and composition I like. I really like the flowers and the shape of the vase, the colour of the background, the reflection and the space you have afforded the subject.

I think the flowers need a bit of fill light. The processing feels a bit, I don't know, 'glowy' which I think could be reigned in a little.

The vase itself I don't think looks classy enough. The table I don't like. The background and the stately home look seems to me rather at odds with the shiny, modern looking table. The shadow would only work for me with the window in the scene too. The rear right corner of the table looks a bit odd.

So mixed feelings.

It ain't pretty so it must be good. Could the tilting downwards thing be due to lens distortion, looks like a close wide angle shot, maybe on a mobbie.

Well the Nikon Coolpix A beat the GR to market. But I think the general point is true with this generation of APS-C compacts. The GR looks much better vfm too.

Most people seem to make that mistake.

Might be tricky to fit on his Nikon.

"Cost" miss typed due to being really really angry about the comments received, and at this rate I am guessing one of you are going to meet me outside the gates after school.

See John is keeping out when his friends are making comments. That have no place on here,

Also strange my inbox is pinging with offers to join other forums as previous members have suffered the same fate on here,
It's a camera people,it's a hobby to be enjoyed and talked about, I think certain people need to worry a litt".............

Do you know what...., I just don't care, off out for a curry and a pint with FRIENDS.
No need to get angry, I'm just genuinely interested why you are underwhelmed with the K3. I very much doubt John counts me as a friend, I have my own views. This is the first real Pentax product of the Ricoh era - the others were all just variations on the same theme and not (for me) worth an upgrade from a K5. The K3 will firmly set the scene for the future and given that Pentax have fallen behind the competition the K3 needs to be a cut above the K5. I understood the launch price was going to be US$1200, which seems reasonable to me as it is quite a bit less than the K5 launch price, so I wouldn't have cost down as an issue - that's why I didn't realise it was a mistype, I actually googled it and found it to mean a small coffin. I'm more than happy to wait a couple of weeks and see the results from someone who will rush out and buy one, but if someone has actually played with one beforehand then of course their views are going to be of interest. It's not about meeting outside the school gates, I'm no fanboy here. I like Pentax products and I'd like a reason to continue to use them. I've invested in glass and so I want the K3 to be really good as it will bode well for the future of the company, but if what you say is true and this gives K5 owners no reason to upgrade then I shall be off to Nikon and that's why I'm interested in your views. I was invited to join other forums a while back too, and I did.

You have already alluded to the fact that the quality of the output is not staggering and you can't see many K5 owners trading up.

If you were not allowed to take any photos with it how could you reach that conclusion. Surely you would have no idea what the output was like?

If you got to try the new Pentax why did you post some photo from a Japanese website rather than take your own image?

Why oops?
