Enjoy that unique lens and take a billion precious family portraits with it. A joy.

There is no greater exponent of the stained glass window image than the bloke above this post. Good advice.

By far the most erudite and succinct comment so far.
Nobody has disputed for a moment what the emphasis should be on.

So succinct yes; erudite, no.
So why don't they do it then?

Looks really good. Have to be careful with the pronunciation of turmeric.

I really like AG's suggestion. 'Your photos' seems to have a dual purpose. Photos are posted for genuine critique or they are posted for a pat on the back, but it is difficult to know which is which. I think it could be split into two sections, eg: critique section and exhibition section so everyone knows where they stand.

General standards of photography on the forum? This dissatisfaction is a sentiment that pops up from time to time and is nothing new. My personal feeling is that often the finest Pentax photographers seem to reach a certain standard and then feel the urge to move on, more often than not to a Nikon D800. Rightly or wrongly it seems to be the case. There are still many fine photographers who stick around, no doubt about that. However, I do think Pentax seems to increasingly promote itself as an inclusive brand firmly aimed at the amateur middle ground and is not particularly concerned about the quality of images marketed to promote the brand. The evolution of the PPG into the acceptance of virtually anything and the ending of the Premiere Collection and also the quality of images promoted by their 'ambassadors' which are largely of the snapshot variety evidence that. I think it is an ethos which filters down to the various Pentax forums. It makes a lot of commercial sense to capture the middle ground.

It may be enlightening to find out from those Pentaxians who have moved on why they have done so and whether they have gained because of it. I think that the forum ethos of stifling discussion of other brands is a bit counterproductive too. It seems to me that Pentax kit is certainly capable of great photography and that aim should be encouraged much more than it seems to be.

Relay not really. Beer or premature senility, or both.

Why is there another athlete in Cox's lane in the first - it doesn't look like a really.

The first two are good shots. The last one is excellent. The low angle, well lit subject against the shaded and hence not distracting crowd, concentration and determination in the expression, spot on framing, little bit of blur enhancing the motion. There may be fine examples of sports shots here currently but this is the finest.

To the OP. The comments are ineffective, we recognise them for what they are. We are not stupid, we are drawing our own conclusions on the integrity of established sellers. I would not blink an eye.

I know you have decided to ignore my advice since you have deemed me not worthy of comment due to a lack of action shots in my own repertoire. However, I think I know a good shot when I see one. Number 7 has all the elements to make a terrific shot - there is an intensity about the action conveyed in the expressions and the 'S' shaped movement through the frame is dynamic. That is quite difficult to capture. But the wheel is cut off, the framing just feels too tight to me. A recurrent theme from otherwise excellent rugby action shots. You will ignore me of course and carry on cutting off extremities. But I wonder if anyone else thinks this is a good shot that could have been great.
