Congratulations to the winners, some very nice shots there. And thanks for setting a good competition - I enjoyed seeing so many wildflowers aka weeds as entries. I appreciate your comments Glyn. I literally had seconds to take my buttercup shot between spotting it and losing the light, so the composition suffered a tad.

And an excellent idea for #43. It's going to be great fun I think.

You lot will have the mental torture of constantly looking for faces everywhere for the next fortnight. I went through it this morning so I can stop squinting now. Looking forward to seeing Obama in a yoghurt pot, etc.

No. I want to remain with Pentax as I have bought into the system with lenses and other accessories. Also, when the K20D behaves I am very happy with the performance, but I want a camera that works properly and is dependable. I first wanted to make sure that there was not an obvious fix that I had overlooked and that it was a real and serious problem. Now I'm convinced that it is and I have finally lost all confidence in the camera. Even if it is repaired I would consider that there is a strong chance of it going wrong out of warranty. I have spoken to the place where I bought it. Previously I hadn't found them very helpful, but I spoke to someone different this time. They were very sympathetic and asked me to return it to them rather than send it to the Pentax agent again for repair. They will speak to their contacts at Pentax and see what can be done. I'm hoping for a replacement camera as a refund wouldn't enable me to buy a replacement and I would lose out with depreciation on other items if I switch to Nikon, which was my original second choice.

I wasn't aware I did anything to it.

Actually I did a dust removal. I've now tried a sensor clean and that is exactly the same noise and feel. So I'm pretty sure the sensor clean is kicking in each time I take a photo.

It's not camera shake, the camera was resting on the table with a cable release. I do think it's the sensor moving around. But I've no idea why it should do that as no menu settings were touched. I did try a sensor clean, but the problem persists.

The lens is fitted fine. Took hundreds of shots with it, no problem The firmware was updated at a previous repair.

It's the same with or without shake reduction. I bought the camera about seven months ago. I've had it in my possession for about three.
