Very nice shots - the originals I'm sure are much cleaner than the digitised versions. Stunning range of colours. Sloping horizons though.

Soft, focus appears to be beyond the bloom but rather nice composition and colours. The lad's clearly got potential.

I very much like the pagoda and even more the palm house against that wonderful sky.

Harsh, uncomfortable viewing, almost newsprint like. I guess that's the point? I can't say I like them, but I guess that's the point too. In which case they deliver the intended message?

I would definitely get the best lens I could to make the most of these wonderful opportunities. I wish I'd been into photography in my travelling days. I must admit I regarded it more of a bar/restaurant than an office.

Thanks for the opinions, all of which are received with gratitude. Another perspective is always valuable. I tend to get bored very quickly with my own photos, but number 4 is a rarity of one of my own photos that I actually really like, so I'm glad others do too. I was a bit unsure of the white vignette, which I very rarely use but thought it suited this one. I take the points about the ones which look posed although only the last one actually is. The penultimate was my daughter dancing around in the garden to that dreadful Shakira waka waka Africa song.

I was watching that ebay one, just out of interest. The description was quite spartan so I'm glad it turned out well.
