I would be rather miffed if I had splashed out £600 quite recently. But this is now sensible and tempting. Tough choice between the Q and a very good current deal on a Panny GF3. Not that tough actually as I can't afford either at the moment. Hopefully now the Q will start selling and there may be some good used deals around in the not too distant.

Now I am getting tempted. Another £50 and I might well be there.

It is both, supposedly, with the Premiere Collection. Looking through the reecently added images, there is some nice stuff there. It seems a bird or a butterfly only has to be not too out of focus to qualify and there are too many wonky sea levels, but by and large it looks alright. It doesn't really matter, who browses all those galleries anyway? I think the personal page is the most useful gallery and the quality is up to you.

Very impressive. The background is a bit in your face but the detail is superb.

My apologies, I got the wrong end of the stick. A tripod certainly would allow you to get the required sharpness, it makes a huge difference. The exposure depends on the depth of field you want (here I'd say you'd want large dof) and where movement is involved (the cars) how long you want the light trails to be. Black skies often don't look great in photos and some blue in the sky is often preferable, hence the post sunset blue hour. Hope this helps.

The last one wins hands down, some seriously impressive glass I would think. The sharpening has generated a lot noise so I'd be tempted to hold back a bit. Also I think it would be better framed by allowing more space for the shadowed part of the disc.

I would say that you have taken offense with the feedback. I have to agree that a tripod is a must here but if you are pleased with the results then that's the main thing.

There are a very large number of submissions to vote on now so it's not surprising.
