Thanks, I have studied them and I'm generally impressed. One image which did raise concerns for me was the study of a porcelain figurine which struck me a bit noisy, hence why I'm looking at higher ISO images. I've looked through flickr groups and I do find a lot of noisy photos, that's why I'm hesitating. One doesn't know if noise is introduced through PP so that's why I'm so interested in your images as I know you'll get the settings right in the first place.

Thanks for posting the image. Would be interested to see more as and when you take them. Would it be possible to tag gallery images 'Q' so I can easily find them.

Despite not being able to find one I am still tempted. I am convinced by a decent performance in daylight outdoors, but I'd really like to see how it performs at ISO400-1600 in lower light. I would be very grateful if a Q owner could post some examples.

Very good post George, I think you might have hit the nail on the head. I found the Jessops staff in Brighton to be knowledgable, enthusiastic and extremely helpful. I found the staff in Bromley friendly and clueless. I wrote to Chris at SRS but he must be on holiday. Park Cameras isn't far from Brighton but I just didn't have the time. They don't have any Q's either where I'm going for my next UK trip. Of the other two cameras I wanted to see was the Ricoh GR4 was equally impossible to track down and the Panasonic GF3 was everywhere.

Pentax Q doesn't take up much space.

I went to the Brighton and Bromley Jessops branches over the last few days to look at a Q (the only camera shops in those towns). I was told that head office had recalled all their stocks. Brighton could get me one to look at in a few days (no good) and at Bromley it would take four weeks. I think the original rumour might well be true. In the Brighton branch there was another customer who also wanted to look at a Q. I am seriously tempted as the price is now good but I am concerned about the low light performance so I wanted to actually get my hands on one before ordering. It should be a lot easier.

Dear Pentax,

What on Earth are you playing at? By all means bring out new products price them as you will and I will decide whether they are value for money. But do you seriously expect me to suddenly cough up an extra couple of hundred pounds more for an existing product. Do you think I have been reluctant to buy that lens because it was far too cheap?

Good luck in your attempt to buck economic history by massively increasing prices of luxury items in a tough economic climate. On a positive note at least you manage yourselves a bit better than Olympus, probably.
