Remember..... The other man's grass is BLACK when the battery goes flat on a mirrorless

Don’t forget to look into the speed boosters if you are going to adapt FF capable lenses.

Sorry I don’t know which model Sony you’ve picked up, but people have been getting interesting results by using the whole FF area of a lense focused down to APS-C on mirrorless.
Fully agree re video and general Pentax availability comments. Pentax haven’t touched this significantly since 2012 and it really shows now. Keen to hear how you get on.

remember, Pentax didn't just lose a long time loyal, customer... the competition (sony) is making sales...
I live in winnipeg canada, do you realize a couple years ago 3 big stores carried Pentax and now NONE of them stock the brand, but two will special order? the last store that had pentax in stock said they dropped the brand becuase customers kept coming back to them saying what I said above.. Pentax is FORCING me to switch if I want these video features.
it's really too bad they didn't rebadge something like the Samsung nx1 with a Kmount......

So.. does anybody have any reccomendations on what adapters are out there to use my pentax lenses on sony FF mirrorless?
I am googling to see what's available but hoping someone here has hands on experience and can recommend a good one?

I have used this company and have no complaints with there goods or services.

I thought you wanted fast auto focussing, that sounds like a step backwards!
I have no intention of scrapping the pentax gear I already have so it makes sense to adapt it. I'm simply taking a pile of old manual lenses and ripping out the click mechanisms to convert them for video use until I can buy all new Cine lenses for the sony system.
for Af purposes I'm starting off with g master lenses .
so pentax will just get used till it's dead or replaced in the mean time.
but it sure wouldn't hurt to have an af adapter handy just in case...

NEVER edit on the same drive you keep your OS and programs on
I intend to import and save any photo files to the traditional hard drive.
I have the os and photoshop program on the internal ssd drive in my laptop... but my library of images lives on an external drive. my version of photoshop (cs6 in my case I don't like renting software, prefer to own it) is set up to use a different ssd raid array as scratch disk. this means photoshop isn't using my laptops internal ssd for editing even though the program is on that drive NONE of the working files are there... does that make sense? storage, scratch and program all on different drives... this is a very fast, reliable and stable set up.

since my productions these days are 80% video and 20% stills
I edit primarily off a 15" MBP so all my software reside on the internal ssd and programs load fast.
I have a 2 TB raid ssd usb-c each 1 tb WD ssd in usb3 gen2 enclosures (very fast raid) setup. (working and scratch disc drive)
I have 8tb raid (usb3) with two 4 tb drives. (projects drive)
and a 8 tb external backup drive. (backup)
Most projects, I will simply move the project from the projects drive to the ssd raid and edit on the ssd then copy back tot he projects drive and daily to the back up drive. then wipe the ssd drive clean.
my photos and videos librarys are also archived on a nas raid for longer term storage. again..
NEVER edit on the same drive you keep your OS and programs on.
ALWAYS back up your projects.
SSD drives are the best if you want to work fast or with larger files. the limit is how fast is the enclosure... you could get bottlenecked depending on the port or enclosure, but internal drives should be plenty fast on a pc.. BUT I plan to upgrade from usb 3 gen 2 drives to NVME ssd in Thunderbolt 3 Raid enclosures soon to prevent bottle necking my system's performance on feature film productions.
for most people, I'd suggest at least 250 gig ssd for the os and programs, a one or two tb ssd for work/scratch disk and at least a four tb hd for storage and a 8 tb hd for backups in your PC. most pcs should handle four drives internally with ease

That's quite good, but I was thinking about 60fps rather than 24fps. No more decisive moment more like decisive hour
The Pentax K-5 already stores video (Motion JPEG) as single jpg frames (actually half + half) I used to dump them a thousand at a time to ramdisk and pick out what I wanted. I used Asfbin to do it.
