if you use it for editing or as a primary computer go macbook pro.
but if you use it primarily as a dropzone while in the feild, and do most of your editing on a home machine, you may prefer the macbook. (either way max out your ram).
I run aperture, cs2, elements and Iphoto for stills, and mix in Imovie, and Idvd for high def video on the road with my macbook and external firewire drives.
never a problem.

Add up the cost of all the components you intend to buy....
Then compare that to mac prices.
I saw some interesting comparisons that had a comparably equipped dell costing $1000.00 more than it's mac pro equivellent.
similar although less dramatic comparisons on an Imac and dell.
macs aren't as expensive as they used to be....javascript:emoticon('')
.and they now run windows.javascript:emoticon('')

Don't expect justice.
let's hope pentax doesn't triple the price of our gear, to pay for trippling thier ad budgets, just so they can get better reviews and support the drug industry.

manual focus lens set to whatever distance you need.
press and hold shutterbutton or lock the remote release.
when camera or subject moves ito the correct focus, the shutter fires.
that simple.

I suggest that if you want snap-in focus with your af lenses, that a little peice of cello/scotch tape (or even a strip of paper) over the contacts on the lensmount will do it, providing it's not too thick...

You didn't take me too literally. Did you?
I was trying to be funny!
I find North americans love thier equipment, and our publications, and sponsered forums are very much paid ads with little in the creative content.
I've not found many forums on ANY subject over on this side of the pond that I actually wanted to join.
but I do love this forum!
Welcome!
This is a great forum, full of generous talented photographers that will help you out in more ways than you can imagine.
There's gifted photographers, knowelegdable pentax gearheads, techheads, and a couple nut jobs (you'll probably get a few pms warning you not get us started with posts about certian, buck-toothed, bushy-tailed, nut-happy rodents....).
Have Fun!
