I'd try to find a custom white balance setting that works.
or even better a manual white balance off white paper (or grey card).
next up: set camera to manual, take an exposure reading, then pop up the flash.using flash this way will get you a decent color balance on your subject, but lets the areas your flash won't reach go off.
the next step up is to gel your flash to match your ambient light.....
(interesting side note:
it appears the second image (where the grey carpet is in the lens dof, is better color than the first image where the warm toned floor is in focus and the grey carpet is not...)

lens model and focal length can both be set as sorting criteria.

seems a little foolish, to pursue it at all.
now scrapping the current calendar system in favour of a simpler (think metric system of measurement) even numbered system makes more sense.
and forcing all companies that have employees who do 80% or more of thier work at a computer, to work from home...now that will save a heck of alot more than candlewax, when all those gas guzzling cars, get the heck out of my way, in the morning!

At the last moment I'd make up some bs/contrived monologue about wanting to push my brain into thinking outside the box, by limiting myself to the 50mm 1.4.....(knowing of course, that there'll be a carload of stuff nearby, that I could mooch from, when the need arises...)

talk about "over-thinking" the subject.
I'm not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree, and when it comes to math, I'm pretty much "dumb-as-a-stump".
I've never had these kinds of problems shooting under flourecent or mixed lights.
Just set everything to manual (including color balance) meter carefully, and shoot!
In practice, I lose more shots on auto, than manual.
In practice, I seldom if ever see that much difference between two consecutive frames.
In reality, I'd grab the one I felt was better tune it up, trash the other and move on.
