I don't respect cameras. I use 'em and toss 'em aside when they start showing thier age.

seriously: we had this saying in maritial arts: "Steel is only as strong as the flesh that weilds it" (meaning if you break the guys arm, the knife he's carrying, is useless).

So I'd say a better question is "What photographer do you respect? Who's work inspires you?"

even Don knows when a project is wasting time.....

seriously, though, the IQ of that converter defies conventional wisdom.....
now has anybody tried reverse mounting a lens to that converter or mounting a lens babie?

I think way back in the film days I tried a black body cap, with tinfoil and a pinhole....

Just try out before you buy if you can, and weigh the results against the cost of a new lens

Did she get it while it was sleeping...for looking at another camera?

seriously, I'd save up for the canon g9.

it's to tech for me just wanted it in english lmao.
then you need to know this:
stick with the newest af and digital lenses.
using the older lenses is easy, if you have some tech/photo skills!

easy if enough to learn, if you're interested though!

sunny sixteen rule.
set your iso (400 should be fine, slower if you can).
set your shutter to the speed closest to your iso... (eg: 1/500 sec iso 400)
set your aperture to f/16.

shoot a test shot (your moon should be mostly grey with tonnes of detial in the moons surface).
from there you will want to open up one-two stops to brighten up the surface and make it glow, while still keeping detial in the surface.

try double exposing one telephoto shot of the moon, with one wide angle shot of a landscape.
remember that with many zoom lenses you lose light at the zoom lens (a 3.5 aperture at the wide aetting becomes 5.6 at the zoom setting) and you may have to adjust manually for that also.

just to be clear...I'm not saying don't buy the 100mm macro, it is by far my favorite portrait lens, oh heck my favorite period. (a blessing for manually focussing in low light).
just get the wider angles first, one decent portrait length, then look seriously at the 100!
you can't go wrong with a wide zoom+ flash and 50mm1.7.

yep, I agree also.
I bought the 100 mm macro specifially for portraits.
but the 16-45 and 501.7 will cover most needs.
i also have three bodies, 2 video cams and a partner on a shoot.
I run two vid cams, and one slr wwhile Gerri runs two slrs.
I got time to swap out the 100mm, a 50mm, and 10-17, knowing I can't miss a shot (if Gerri misses a shot while I'm sawpping lenses, it's still caught on video!

Wait till I get the audio finished (scream track, stabbing sounds and music).
That is the last clip in a 3 min movie. (starts off as a cooking show, turns to comedic horror).
