Ahh... But have you tried my recepie?
Open tin, stick in pan, cook on full heat until it starts to burn, eat straight from pan with white bread. (Works with beans too.).

I like my ds2 and my k10's.
so what would I do if I were Pentax...
stripping out features is IMHO needless... green mode got that covered....
Now taking a lesson from Apple about user interface... If I had the camera on Green Mode or Program, and there was a custom function that assigned one button as a "Help" button and pressing the help button brought up a "Photo Genius" help guide that offered some (perhaps context related by knowing what the camera settings are at) photo tips and help menus to teach you the basics and replace the manual.
"Dude, I see you are using a wide angle in a bright scene... Are you shooting a Landscape?"
"Y" or "N"?
"Y- I notice your camera isn't very level...
using a tripod may help.
here is how the sensor leveling feature works.."
I mean there is a computer inside there...
I suppose an Iphone/ipod touch ap to that effect if firmware and language support is to expensive to do in Camera...

Some people put insects in the freezer for a while to make them sit still. You could try the same with the puppies...
Dan
P.S. I'd try John's idea first, less messy than Don's.
I'm getting dizzy going around in circles, feels like I'm chasing my own tail..
I blame Jack...I mean really.. basket full of puppies? that's so sickeningly sweet I need an insulin shot....

My avatar is not me - I'm not quite as good looking plus I'm male , but it was my first picture to get a 1st place in a camera club competition, so it means a lot to me.

I saw someone else's shots of some toadstools and as we had some in the back garden wanted to have a go myself. But wouldn't you know it they have shrivelled up! Still not to be deterred I decided to try the ones in the front garden. So braving comments from passing car drivers (That's one hell of a speed camera you've got there luv!) and strange looks from people walking by, I sprawl out on the grass to take a few shots. So now the whole of my street know I am a complete looney
I have sharpened and removed noise from both but got corel to adjust the colours on the other. Please excuse any camera shake but its difficult to set up a tripod at ground level on an uphill slope
I would be interested in which if any you prefer. I am not even sure is they make good pictures
1) people don't hang around asking questions when I'm out there shooting...in the nude...your milage may vary...
2) Greycard... set your exposure and color manually, and tweak from there....
3) beanbag.... litterally, grab a bag of dried beans or rice, from the kitchen, and don't fret the tripod.

where is the missing peice now? do you hold your camera upside down while changing lenses (I do to keep dust down, gravity works) or is it possible it went into your camera? check your camera bag too...

but in jpeg, you're pretty much stuck with what ya got...
now for next time, a reflector and or flash to fill in the shadows combined with metering for the highlights would get it right in camera...
but with these shots, I'd say make two layers:
in the first layer try adjusting your levels and color , highlights and shadows tool, dodge and burn tools, etc...to get the face looking good...
on the top layer adjust for the rest of the image, do some burning in on the cap and clothing etc...
then just erase out the face from the top layer to let the bottom layer show through...
maybe select the burnt out areas and of his face and paint in some color sampled from his face and add some noise to fake the skin.... or clone in some skin from elswhere...
