Of course you could print the pictures.

Probably last much longer than any electronic media.

I found the 50-200 was a great lens when traveling light. I swapped my original copy for a WR version and it is still as good.

I think it is underrated and I prefer it to the 55-300. It is just much more comfortable on the camera. I must admit it doesn't get the use it did, since I got an 18-135 wr but it still gets packed in the rucksack more often than the longer lens, if I'm off to the mountains.

I've had my Super A from new. It was my first Pentax, I only managed to afford it then because I had an insurance policy mature.
It was my main camera for years, was only displaced by my first digital camera. Went through many trips to the mountains, both at home and abroad. It's been to the top of the alps, over 20.000 feet in the Karakorum and never let me down. I could never understand why people thought a battery dependent camera was a problem, mind you I usually use a lithium battery rather than silver batteries.
My Super A is not a pristine example, cosmetically, worn at the edges of the casings but it's still working fine and hopefully will carry on doing so.

Welcome to the forum.

As Frogfish says, take lots of pictures and don't be afraid to ask, if the manual doesn't give you the answer. There are plenty of people here who will help.

The other thing that helps a lot is to have a look at other peoples work, on here or elsewhere, and ask yourself why you like/don't like what you see.

Well, speaking personally, they could forget the aperture priority bit. I would be very interested in a camera with manual focus (with suitable focus screen) and manual exposure. (And correct metering using my manual lenses).
Perhaps you need to buy an LX, and a scanner if you need a digital output. Or just switch your digital SLR to manual and change the focus screen.

I must admit, I still enjoy using my film cameras but I would be able to take a lot less pictures if I was having to pay for processing all the time.

Do we not already have one in the K5?

Or do you really want a manual focus camera with aperture priority and manual exposure only.

Interestingly isopropanol is not recomended with nylon but is OK with most other plastics.
Thats what I like about this forum, you learn all sorts from all sorts of experts. Thanks for the info Mike, very useful.

Why not try taking some pictures with it first, see how much it affects the image! It may not be too noticeable.

Not sure about the acetone but I think I'd try normal cleaning first.

Please keep them talking for as long as possible.

Two effects:
1. Adds to the value of my BT shares.
2. They will only do this if they make money at it. Increase the cost enough and it won't make money.

These people are just crooks out to fleece people. I have no sympathy for them.

As it happens, I'm on the lookout for one of those but not at that price I'm afraid!

I guess someone might pay that much, eventually.
