The "power-zoom-power-contacts" power (they deliver the required energy) for the SDM. Regulation of the AF is another story. Close-up rings without optical elements focus without problems. There is just a need of data communication. Probably, there will be a massive need of firmware-updates in the near future, as Pentax DSLRs currently do not know of the existence of any teleconverters. Pins which transfer data, however, already are available.
Surely all the TC needs to do is pass the data from the lens and add a few bits of its own to identify both lens and TC to the camera. The modern Pentax lenses are identified to the camera already. Of course Pentax are not likely to let other lens manufacturers have the info to do this.

Springwatch is on the tele and on the computer at the same time!

Really impressed.

P.S. They just had the woodpeckers on Springwatch and apart from the white balance, I think your video is better!

There should be enough pins already to pass data. If it was really clever it would pass the lens and TC data back to the camera. May need a firmware update on the camera as well.

Another happy user.

I'll go with all of the above plus I am happy to take it and use it on mountain trips in all weathers. It is the one lens solution for me.

Most of the mountain pictures in my gallery, taken over the last 18 months, were taken with the 18-135.

As has been said, the composition is fine but the HDR processing has made the picture unnatural. Thats not to say HDR is the problem, over processing is the problem for me with this one.

I think HDR is a useful tool, just as any processing is but it needs to be used with subtlety if you want to make a realistic picture. That goes for any processing.

Of course, if you want to create a fantasy then unrealistic is what you want. In the end it is your picture and for you to decide.
