Check out John's 'more from Norfolk' post and you see his pic of a tulip. He too has the tulip head centered in the frame. The difference is ever so slight but makes a difference, he has the stem entering at an angle and not straight up into the frame as you do. It's only a personnel view but that pic appeals to me more because of that angle.

Hope that makes sense.

Wow, I thought it was a joke that I wasn't in on! But, putting film in the freezer seems legitimate. I've seen out of date film for sale quite cheaply. There is enough supply of standard film around for me at the moment but it's good to know that it can be put in the freezer should it pass it use by date.

So this isn't a 'in joke' right? Film CAN be stored in the freezer! Time to consult the world wide web.

Nice results. And you mention the important word, 'fun'!

Thanks Don, yes it was very serene.

It's funny, but without that sheep and his slash of red I think the pic would be so cliche. I think it adds a bit of humour. A bit like the Snowdon sunrise pic I posted below. Without the dark trees, which perhaps look out of place, as indeed they are, they don't belong here, the pic would be cliche. It's the red slash and dark trees that make the pics different for me.

Hi Giorgio, I too like taking photos in the garden and I also have lots of tulips.

I like your colours, very nice. But if it were me I wouldn't have the tulip heads so near central. Placed as they are in the photo they would suit a square crop more I think. Or, include more of the stems and place the tulips offset to one side of the photo.

But just as a flower head photo I think the parrot feather tulips or other fancy shaped tulips would be more suitable.

It would be nice to see some more examples of what you have in your garden.

Thanks Ken, sounds like I would need 3 hands! Still, it sounds possible and more fun than photoshop.

Looked up Sam Haskins and quite impressed. A raised eyebrow from my wife sitting next to me as I flipped through his work on my laptop. 'Forget it,' she said. 'Find yourself a model.'

Hi again, I saw some photos that were obviously double exposures. They looked contrived (I think that's the word, meaning planned). They also looked quite good.

When using film can you actually double expose a film deliberately for effect?
