Nice photos Bjorn. You have captured the moment and colours well. Gives us a chance to post a sunset too if you don't mind.

And a very nice from me too.

It works well with one to the fore and one behind. Nice focus area.

I think the pics are quite good. You need an eye for street pics and you seem to have picked up on a couple of nice scenes.

I know what you mean about being out of your comfort zone. When I have attempted street pics I've half expected to get my head beat in! You used your kit lens. I don't know what's best. A nice discreet compact? Or sitting on a bench with a l o n g lens??

Thanks guys, the only film I could find on a shopping trip was ISO 400 and so that might cause me problems as I'll see when I develop. It is also B&W. Other ISO's might be suitable for outdoor portraits which I can buy on the internet.

I was photographing a baby at ground level and similar to your suggestion about a reflector, a light coloured sheet on the grass threw up some lovely light onto the face.

Thanks again, very helpful.

Thanks guys.

even with the digital yesterday face pics were still a little underexposed with a little exposure compensation added. Shooting in RAW might have helped.

I also forgot how annoying it can be when the subject moves just as you press the shutter on a film camera. Every time this happened I looked to the back of the camera to check the pic on the playback!!!

Do you guys ever use a grey card when using film?

Hi all, I took some portrait shots today in quite bright sunlight. On my digital I was able to adjust the exposure compensation and managed to get some decent face exposures despite strong back lighting.

But when it comes to the P30n I was at a bit of a loss as what to do? In the manual it says you can point at a subjects face that is strongly back lit and press the auto exposure lock. Would this in fact give a good exposure of the face? Isn't this just the same as pointing the lens at the face, focusing, and pressing the shutter?

I could experiment and end up with a roll of over/under exposed faces!

Any help much appreciated.

Well done Stan, are there any examples of your work that won you the shield?

Hi Brodie, sheep are marked for lots of reasons for ease of identification. The sheep could be pregnant, it could have been medicated, it might have been recently mated, or it might just be so the farmer can spot it from a distance if it strays or if he needs to find it. This type of paint can last for a few months. Ear marks and tattoos are also used to identify sheep and crayons can be used to identify ewes that have been serviced by a ram.

Thanks for the comment.

Hi guys, as with most of my photos I have to have something in the shot to distinguish it from other photos of the same scene. (dogs, sheep, Christmas tree's!) There are lots of angles to take a pic of the pier from but hopefully the dogs make this one different.

Adrian, you are not alone. I too have lost all my pics in the past because I didn't back them up. My latest scare was only a couple of weeks back. I opened Elements to find half of my pics gone! Hundreds!! I just couldn't fathom out what the heck had happened. Until, someone asked me to look in the recycle bin? Oh YES, there they were! The previous night I had highlighted a line of pics to be deleted. Unknown to me, hundreds of pics out of screen shot were also highlighted!!! I was just in auto mode so just went again and deleted without checking. Lesson learned.

We got sunny weather today so far. (wednesday)
