I think this deserves a comment robbie.

I do like the subject, the flower, very interesting. I like the combination of just 3 colours, green yellow and blue. I like the sharpness of the flower against the blurred background.

What lets it down for me is the shortness of the stem. Did you crop and there was more stem originally? For it to work as it is I think there needs to be a tighter overall crop where the plant takes perhaps a third of the photo. Rule of thirds perhaps. But even then the lack of stem wouldn't look right for me.

Potentially a lovely photo robbie.

Just my humble opinion.

Overall I like the photo, it fills the frame nicely. Lavender and a bee a nice combination.

And, a good example for anyone wanting to know just what DOF is. Background nicely blurred too.

It also works if rotated so the lavender is pointing upright. There are a couple of droplets hanging which also add to the nice detail and so would give the game away if you did rotate.

Nice.

I must admit, I have been scouring your photos for details such as you've mentioned above. Your photos draw and invite the eye in.

I've looked a little closer at your photos and have noticed some nice detail.

#3-is that a stuffed badger in the window?
#5-what is for sale in the background?
#6-the poodle is tied to that thing! surely it doesn't run behind it?
#10-dog has a life jacket on, cool!
#11-is that some sort of dog painting/symbol on the wall?

More to the pics than first meets the eye, nice.

Hi, I do like the focus on dogs and I would like to try it myself.

I think some of the scenes are too busy for B&W. The dogs in the pics tend to blend in too much with B&W instead of standing out. I assume the dogs were all different colours and so this would distinguish them from their surroundings.

But having said that, because of the contrast with their surroundings I think the 2 temple shots work nicely.

Wow, beautiful shots of that wren David. It looks as if the parent/s are taking food in for chicks so keep your eyes open for their emergence.

I sat in our garden today looking for birds to photo and in total we had a couple of sparrows and a blackbird!

Again, lovely photos.

A nice set of photos and motors. A few cans of polish have been used no doubt!
