Took the K135 f/2.5 out for a play last Saturday.

I think this deserves a comment robbie.

I do like the subject, the flower, very interesting. I like the combination of just 3 colours, green yellow and blue. I like the sharpness of the flower against the blurred background.

What lets it down for me is the shortness of the stem. Did you crop and there was more stem originally? For it to work as it is I think there needs to be a tighter overall crop where the plant takes perhaps a third of the photo. Rule of thirds perhaps. But even then the lack of stem wouldn't look right for me.

Potentially a lovely photo robbie.

Just my humble opinion.

Is that my old lens Robbie? I think it must be. I took some flower images with the lens, including the one below and I think it is well suited to this task. It has lovely way with colours that can be seen in your shot above.

Hope I haven't hijacked your thread but I thought you'd like to see one shot with your lens!

, no problem at all David. Your shot is stunning. And yes it was your old lens.

@Deyrn, Yes I cropped the stem so that the blue head was in the crosshair of the lower right quarter of the shot. I'll redo with a tighter crop later on this evening. Appreciate you input.

For me those are too tight, but agree with Deryn's comment that a slightly tighter crop than the original would work better.

Like this... you can see the clumsy edit I've made to lengthen the stalk...

In the above is the background not just a bit "fussy" for such a delicate bloom. But prefer the longer stem too.

Perhaps so... I seem to be addicted to Topaz Adjust these days

I like the longer stemmed version. Could fit well into a series on single blooms.

Nice.
