Hope you enjoy it Barrie, focus ring is firm enough to set on infinity and walk around all day without it moving on you, and it can focus pretty close too, looking forward to seeing some shots from it.

Do you have any shots of the same scene with the water looking like H2O rather than milk? It would be interesting to compare. I'm not a fan of milky water but sometimes it seems to be the better option, sometimes it doesn't. Can't tell without seeing both, though.

FWIW, I rather like your mono pictures in which the 'milk' gives the impression of mist rising over the water.

Steve
Thanks Steve, this is a shot of the water as water, same position as it was on the tripod anyway.
i haven't really spent any time editing other than minor adjustments, but, this is how it looks normally.

Hi Steve, I'm almost certain I did take one shot while set up for the first shot in this post, I'm away till tomorrow though, will post it as soon as I can.

cheers everyone its been a learning curve for me too on this, the ph edit thing is fine for the likes of instagram and other ph based platforms, but there are limitations on its use outside of that, mainly visible when seen on a normal screen, there was horrendous banding, and a few other flaws along the left edge of the image. cant see them here but on flickr they were apparent, ive tried to blur out the banding in these and darken down the left edge to get rid of the issues.
I might at some stage re visit this shot and edit only on pc, and see if I can avoid the issues and gain a much cleaner image.
Overall I do like this shot, flawed edits and all

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment, as always it is appreciated, i shall keep the points raised in mind when I re do them.
for now I will leave you wit 2 more edits, not much difference between them but I have fixed the left edge issue on both

Nice set, from what looks like an arduous hike.
7, 8 and 1 in that order for me.

It's strange, how tastes differ, I dislike the original enough that I almost didn't include it.
The original for me was only to allow me to get to the other two,
If I hadn't made the other edits, the original would have ended up in the bin
That is what makes our hobby so fascinating. there is no right or wrong answer
It sure is

I'd run with no 3 as well, sweet shot.
I think it might be a Dutch barge, as opposed to a narrow boat.
A nice series from what looks to have been a very nice stroll.
