I'd buy it myself but no point when I can't put a 100mm filter on it.
it does take circular filters though

Another alternative might be to use a manual flash, I've been using flash and live view and as i was reading and wondering why this was happening to you it occurred to me that my flash is manual. I set my flash strength manually and live view is unaffected

Sweet, the q is also a good option for moon shots especially with that monster lens you have, would love to see what that produces

Cracker of a shot,
Having just attempted my first similar shot, it can be very hit and miss as to whether the weather plays ball and provides the drama,
Well theres no shortage of drama in this.
Pp aside, it's a cracker.
Should be pleased with that one.

1st and 3rd are the same shot with a slight difference in the edit, wasnt trying to pull a fast one but was undecided as to which way to go, i tend to go for darker moodier edits and did the 1st to see if maybe I should start to change my processing, I guess the answer is no

This is the reason for the roadway being closed

Spurred on by recent shots, Cheers Gareth, and a few others, i managed to make time to get to Poolbeg lighthouse, its only a little one but it is the closest to me, and the weather was promising, however i got there and some security guys had the access blocked of due to the inclement weather, ( the exact purpose of the visit) anyway, these are the best I could do, from a distance

Live view might help here,
Mono pod, shoulder strap on, and use the shoulder strap / neck strap to steady by pushing away while using live view, might help, worth a try anyway. But I'd lose the grip, its adding weight, and offering very little in return.
Do you sit when out ?
You could rest the lens on your knees if sitting with knees bent,

I found I had to learn to use live view for macro shooting. (Totally unrelated other than live view use) but with extra magnification there was no light coming through the viewfinder, I persevered and find it invaluable now.
Let us know how you get on.
