Come on Derek - you need to help me out with that abstract, it's clearly excellent selective focus but what the hell is it?????????
With not a trace of irony

The level of detail in your Macro shots is incredible Derek - you've almost reached the point where they could become abstracts

Cheers John.

I always envied the mayfly and dragonfly shots that so many of you post on here.
I just never seemed to get the chance,
While in the garden this evening doing my usual fly rounds I spot this guy on the hedge,

Not the best shots by any stretch, but I was still glad to get them

Completely wrong setup, its too big to get him all in, didnt want to risk going to change, so I took some shots anyway, he finally got fed up and flew away.

A first for me, never seen one of these before, a Dolichopodidae. or long legged fly (I think)

I've not noticed any serious moire on any of these.

That's true alright, I've seen plenty to back that up,
I cant take any credit for the lack of it in this shot, that's all down to the magic of pentax 😁

Cheers guys, I took about 10 shots of this guy, started off at my usual kind of magnification, then increased till i was at full extension on the bellows, 1;1 on the lens and with a raynox dcr 250, boy is it hard to shoot at that level, trying to keep it in frame is really difficult, had a couple with just half its head
