That's a beautiful evening picture. I love the subdued blues of the sky and sea and the deep yellowy brown of the mine building which is perfectly positioned in the frame. David

That's an evocative image Stephen. There's a wistful look in the girl's face, is she waiting for a loved one's train to arrive or has she just seen someone's leave on a train? The distant figure seems to be taking a photo but would she have been a more powerful part of the photo if she too had been just gazing into the distance? Its a quality black and white conversion. What is it Ken? It makes an interesting change from your wonderful goldfinches. David

Excellent Jaromir, there are lovely tones in that picture. As Peter says, great composition and well suited to black and white. David

Not just an excellent train shot showing Leander at grips with the gradient but also a fine landscape of the Northern Pennines on the North Yorkshire/Cumbria border. David

You were at Ais Gill on Wednesday Peter? So was I. I was on the bridge just north of the summit and got Leander cresting the summit with a long shot and of it picking up speed down the hill. The previous Sunday I got 48151 at Appleby and at Kirkby Stephen. David.

When I rode my bike over there it was laden with youth hostelling bags and stuff. But I was determined not to get off and walk. Good drop into Windermere though. David

If only it had a trail of smoke and steam coming from it Tony. Otherwise its a good shot which combines rural tranquility with a modern industrial background. David
