They really do look sleek, colourful and modern in the first two captures, David - which lens(es)/focal length(s) were used? The third is also fascinating for the apparent chaos of the overhead electrics!

I used a Sigma 10-20mm lens set at 10mm on the K70 for the close views and a D FA*70-200mm zoom on the K3 for the longer view of the train approaching the station under the wires. That castle in the background is Newcastle Keep which in my schooldays hundreds of boys used as a grandstand for trainspotting.

I take a fairly wide range of photographic subjects, including railways where I rarely photograph anything other than historic steam powered trains. A couple of weeks ago with Barrie Forbes and another photo buddy, not a Pentax User, I spent a morning at Newcastle Central Station on the East Coast Mainline and was impressed by the new generation of rail transport. The boxy looking diesels and electric locomotives that replaced steam power are a dying breed … being replaced by sleek and colourful modern trains owing much to the best of up to date industrial design inspired by the aviation industry.
These three shots showing the LNER's new Azuma trains and the almost identical Trans Pennine Express Nova.

A lovely set Gareth - The misty scene in No. 6 is my favourite.

David, how might that work given entries are limited to just single photograph?
I think it would work by the photographer submitting just his or her favourite image of the set they have taken.

A fascinating project and one, judging by the quality of your photos, that has given you great inspiration. This would make an interesting subject for one of our set subject weekly or monthly competitions, though not just confined to the Warwick area.

I've had my F DA* 70-200mm 2.8 for more than three years now and its the sharpest lens in my collection - as well as the heaviest by far. Focussing issues? Check the switch on the lens barrel with has settings for 1.2 - 4 metres and 4 metres - infinity as well as manual and auto.
Good set of images by the way Robbie.

Putting me to shame Barrie - during the lock down you've been very active whereas I've done very little new picture taking apart from going through old RAW files and improving on my earlier processing.

This picture sums up the mood of lockdown to perfection: a windswept and deserted children's play area.

I didn't see the original 'crit' on this lens on You Tube but I do own a DFA*70-200mm f2.8 and its without any doubt the 'best' Pentax lens I've ever used - and that includes even my beautiful DA*50-135mm 2.8 zoom. Seemingly the You Tube reviewer compares it unfavourably with the similarly specified Tamron. Well its certainly heavier than the Tamron and more expensive but I think the Pentax, at least my copy, edges ahead on quality. A generous friend of mine allowed me to borrow his Tamron before I made a final decision on which lens to buy and the Tamron is certainly a fine lens but I reckon the Pentax is better.
