Thanks Richard. I got this lens a month or so ago and this was the only the third time I had mounted it the K-1, big smile on my face when I opened this on screen.

Hey Robbie,
Looks like that lens had delivered, been considering one myself, however I tested one a few months back and I think I must have had a bad copy. Really couldn't get the focus/image sharp even at lower f-stops. looks like you have a better copy! very nice.

I think so, well at least I hope so. This image is sharp out and it looks it, I have taken about 40 images in total and I'm getting about a 50% keeper rate, but I'm very much learning how to carry, handle and use a zoom since I've been primarily a prime user for the last 10 years, and this is not your typical run of the mill zoom One thing I have picked up anecdotally and proven to myself is that critical sharpness varies by focal length and distance to subject. So for example say you set it at 200mm & f/2.8 and focus at 1.3m or MFD, your image will be softer than expected. Do the same again at say 2.5m and everything is very different, contrast, resolution are now where you would expect them to be. The next month and more will be about learning these focal length operating windows. Lastly and I hate saying it but it does highlight that on a K-1 using AF, you do need to be careful, even with center point. Feels to me that it gets 70% accuracy when handholding. That is down to me moreso with lack of technique but it is something that I have in the back of my mind.

@Robbie - This fits in perfectly with my experience too, I only had the lens for a day loan and a deep dive really wasn't practical. Thanks for observations.
