Aiki, I tried to get into Flickr with the help of MikeW but as usual when I try something new with computer technology it all went wrong and wouldn't work. I got into Flickr and I've looked at some of our members portfolios there, including yours. But there seems to be no way for me to upload photos. I'll come back to it eventually and try again.

Sorry Aiki, about Nos. 1 + 2: of these I prefer No.1 because of the unusual shapes of the little mounds of snow. This demonstrates the 'seeing eye' of a photographer whose not just looking at the broad view but who also has an eye for detail. No.2 is very pleasant and well photographed but it's the sort of picture you see quite a lot of, and, well, its not as original as the other three.

Just a suggestion to tone down the blue. But you might find the blue tint more attractive, its just a matter of personal taste. I also upped the contrast slightly,

Great set of well observed images Aiki. Like Galoot my favourite is No. 3, which is a wonderful exercise in patterns but No.4 runs it close for me. The organge against the snow is superb. Have you thought of toning down the saturation in the snow to reduce the blue cast that you nearly always get with snow scenes?.

I welcome the themed approach and as I like abstracts I shall certainly enter this next competition.

Glad to see more entries starting to come in. From Oz as well. There's been some great winter pictures posted in the Forum in the past few days - it would be good to see some of them in this competition.

I agree with Barrie, No.1 is spectacular. Just black and blue, wow. No. 2 is very atmospheric. I like the way you've positioned the seat.

Well done Ralf. Your pictures are always inspirational and well deserve this honour.

PS: Is that 60 in one year or now a total of 60 in PPG?

Thanks for your comments. The picture was taken when I was hunting for an entry into Dr Mhuni's juxtapositions fortnightly competition in terrible weather around Newcastle.
Here's another I took the same day - the guy in the picture was too busy taking his photos to realise I was taking his.
PS: No tripods or umbrellas for me.
