Thanks for the comments Lenny Bloke, Old Hat, Derek, David and Bill, much appreciated. When I got my K5 at the end of 2010 the K10 became my second camera but I found it much easier to get reasonable results in PS with the new K5. When the K30 came out I bought one and the K10 was relegated to the back shelf. Over the past few months I have revisited some of the earlier RAW images from the K10 and found I can now do a much better job on them in PS than previously. My processing skills have improved over the years and also later editions of PS are more helpful. David is right though, I think the K10 doesn't handle so well in low light but it undoubtedly has other strengths.

Here's one from Wasdale in 2009 that I just couldn't get right then but a recent PS job on it has transformed the image.

Still playing with my 12 year old K10D which I recently took down from a back shelf to see if it's still OK after years of neglect while[img]

My K10d lay unused for the past six years or so after I moved on to a K5, K30 and K3. I wondered how it might perform so I charged up the battery and took it out for afternoon tea at Seaham Hall Hotel with the 18-55mm lens that came bundled with my K3 when it was new..

It still works.

Thanks Peter, Mike and Andy. Durham Cathedral authorities have recently lifted their ban on photography, apart from when they used to allow it at after-hours sessions ands charged £10 per camera. So far they haven't set a charge under the new system although many cathedrals in other parts of the country do so to raise funds towards the enormous upkeep of these historical buildings.
