Very nice set Drew, it's interesting to see how doors and windows differ in far flung places. These obviously don't have the British weather to deal with, but have aged in a different way due to the effects of the sun.

It's a pity you didn't post another picture of the knocker, as they would have made a fine pair - someone had to say it and I got in there first!

David

Hi, a welcome from me too, my first DSLR was a K-x which I still have and it's great. I'm sure the K50 will serve you well!

Very nicely done Nigel, I think the mild HDR effect suits them well without making them look artificial.

For me, 3 and 4 stand head and shoulders above the others.

Another good set here, I most like the ones with a landscape quality and also the one of Woodchester Mansion, which looks suitably spooky!

A very strong set George, they capture the essence of Autumn very well with lovely, natural colours.

The compositions are all good, all are sharp and well exposed too, I think you have done a fine job. Looks like you had a pleasant walk too!

I would broadly agree with Mike, i.e. ISO 100, minimum of 15 seconds exposure, but this depends on how many fireworks there are and how much detail you want to obtain in the general landscape. It's difficult to advise on the lens focal length as it will depend entirely on the effect you are trying to achieve, the location you are in and how far from the display you are.

I always use either the 'Bulb' setting and trigger the shutter via a remote, or alternatively use 'Manual' and set the camera to the desired exposure time.

A lovely set, gorgeous colours and very well composed throughout, especially number 1 which is my favourite. I do think they could be made even better if the shadows were lifted a little.

A really attractive set of images Andy, I particularly like the variety in the shots, they are not at all 'samey' and the set is all the better for this.

My favourites are 5 and 8.
