Hi Gareth

I like these very much, especially considering you probably didn't have a lot of time to deliberate over them. The first is my favourite, the figures add great perspective.

Hi All

Thank you very much for your comments, thanks also to Vic for the moderated second post! I do like cats and think they make interesting subjects, even the fleabitten ones like the poor white kitten.

I adore cats but my dogs don't! No 1 is my favourite and i think it would look just as good in B&W, having said that they are all wonderful pictures. I would just love to pick that poor white kitten up and nurse it back to health though and that's a super shot too Do you mind me asking what lens you used please David?
Hi Maria, all with the DA*50-135 (best lens I've ever used, along with the DA*300), except for the second one which is with the Sigma 17-70 HSM OS F2.8-4. The DA* lens really is a magnificent beast, everything about it is great, except for the SDM motor!

Cats. YUK. Before the war we used to go to "Yugoslavia" a lot. The filthy creatures were wandering around in the cafes and bars crapping all over the place. You had to watch where you put your feet. At home we are surrounded by them crapping in the garden all the time. One owner said "They are only marking their territory" To which I replied "Is it OK if I come and crapp in your garden and mark my territory" To which he was not pleased. After all MY garden is not their cats territory.
Sorry for the rant but we just don't like cats.
CHEERS Vic.
I'm not sure that's relevant to my pictures Vic, sorry you don't like cats!

Are the images any good?

Cheers
David

Well done Steve, the night sky images are not my usual cup of tea, but this is outstanding. 'Explore' on on Flickr is a group that images get added to if they are unusual, especially good or get a high number of views. I wouldn't be surprised if the view count goes over 10,000 as some of mine that have been 'Explored' have hit between 11,000 and 15,000 views, which I think is fairly typical.

Been on Hols, around the Eastern Mediterranean and visited some wonderful places I'd never seen before. In two of them (Kotor, Montenegro and Dubrovnik, Croatia) cats are obviously much loved by the locals. Here are a few of the more appealing images of them.

1. Kotor - Sleeping Cat - K-5iis, DA*50-135

2. Kotor - Expectant Cat - K-3, Sigma 17-70 HSM OS F2.8-4

3. Dubrovnik - Fleabag Kitten - K-3, DA*50-135

4. Dubrovnik - Sleeping Kitten - K-3, DA*50-135

I don't know if that applies anymore seeing as were not in the EU anymore.
That was quick.

I'd avoid the K-50 (K-500 was discontinued long ago) as it's basically a K-30 in a difeerent shell.
My advice would be to consider the K-S1 or K-S2.
We are still in the EU Louise, nothing has changed. The UK has to invoke Article 50 to even start the process of leaving and this has not been done, it is likely it won't be done until next year and even then it will take a couple of years to leave.

WOW! These shots are stunning. I think you made the right choice in taking the converted K-01 as that camera has produced some eye-popping shots. Do you mind me asking a few questions?

- Where did you get the K-01 converted and how much did it cost?

- I notice a lot of shots with the DA15 Ltd., but also some that look as though they were shot with old lenses. Which legacy glass did you use?

- How long did you spend in Iceland?

Thanks for sharing these images, they are beautiful.

What a lovely set Gary, varied and interesting. My favourites are the last two, the one with the hat and can is superb.
