I agree on the slight toning improvements on those newer ones Gareth .... Nicely done and timed, the result has a sophistication and style that would look good as wall art in a posh location, gallery or venue for example.
My idea regarding the editing and/or flash exposure, (however its best to achieve) would be a stretching of the contrast range with brighter highlights .... keep the shadow levels and black point but just pull the white point down to give more sparkle. As they are I feel they are too dim and lack impact.
It would be good to see a 'pull-back' of the light set-up if you have one (although the last time I did that I got asked questions about my dodgy ripped wall paper!!

2 off camera flashes, Pentax K3ii & DA* 16-50mm.
The first is a composite of two images, the 2nd image is a composite of 3 images.
PS - Food colouring water and laminate flooring don't mix that well
