A fabulous set Alan, I don't think there are any fillers here despite you having some 'slack months'. I think my year was much slacker than yours (photographically speaking), I don't have any images at all from most months.

Lovely set Drew, I like the tight framing on these and the colours / sharpness are spot on.

Thanks for suggesting the day out, I enjoyed it - we must do more come the Spring and warmer weather.

Cheers

I don't think No.1 is poor focus, it looks exactly like camera shake to me. You simply cannot get away with 1/30 second, even on a tripod, when using a 300mm lens and TC, unless there is absolutely zero movement of the equipment.

Shutter is very likely to have caused it I would have thought, I think Algi is right and the question was answered already by the original post.

I agree with John and John, lens correction slows down write times massively.

Surely watching that on as small a screen as possible would be less painful as a Leeds fan David?
The mighty whites are flying Drew, opportunities like this don't come very often and I want to watch it in the maximum possible size!!!

There are two lenses that spring to my mind, one is a macro and one is a zoom:

- The Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG EX macro is the best portrait lens I've used - it takes wonderful images and has a particularly beautiful way of rendering flesh tones
- The Pentax DA*50-135 is the best zoom lens I've used for portraits

I personally feel that 50mm is too short a focal length to be a great portrait lens, so I've not included any of the 50mm standard lenses, many of which are very good. Best of these I've used is the Pentax-A 50mm F1.7.
