I know you don't want to use the rear screen live view for most work, but on the odd occasion that you do, don't forget the K-3 has focus peaking, which makes live view manual focusing very easy.

That is just superb, not only is it a great image, but it has a certain humour about it too.

Thanks Michael, SJ and Alan. I also rarely make it to the Lakes Alan, so I just had to make the most of my day there.

Hope you get back soon.

Cheers

The DA50 is superb for the money. I cannot fault it in any way.

Thanks Bill, the water was cold, I can confirm that as my hands were in it quite a lot. Luckily I managed to avoid falling in or getting my boots wet, I do have a habit of clambering about on slippery rocks!

Excellent shots, the first one is right up my street. What I notice is the colours - natural and saturated, but not overdone.

Love the Waxwing shots, the final one in particular catches my eye.

I like it very much, it has a surreal, mysterious feel about it. Well worth the effort I think.

Here's my second set from the Lakes last week, these are more your traditional landscapes, a genre where I'm probably most comfortable and in my element so to speak.

The first few are alternative views of the same scene, at different times in the morning, with different camera/lens combinations and different processing. This particular scene is often photographed, being as it is at the Northern end of Ullswater and very accessible, although on the day I was there I was a bit restricted in the angles I could find as there were other photographers already set up with their tripods.

The images are mix of K-5iis and K-3, with a variety of lenses including Pentax-M 28mm F3.5, Pentax DA L 55-300, Samsung 12-24 and Sigma 17-70.

I hope you enjoy viewing these, I certainly enjoyed taking them.
