Thanks for posting these Peter, it's nice to see the bikes properly! That T-Rex bike looks like a labour of love!

I think the cat was looking at 'us' rather than at 'me'!

All we need now David is some motorsport events running through the lake district to give a better backdrop.
It wouldn't work Nigel - the backgrounds would be blurred

Lovely images Tim, I particularly like the first and last, with the colour version of the first one preferred to the BW.

They don't look soft to me, just beautiful.

I am not known for Motorsport images, but yesterday had my first foray into this world (in a photographic sense at least) at Donington Park. This was the first day of the British Touring Cars Championship meeting, mostly practice sessions with a couple of races. These days are great for photography, probably better than the race days when it can get a bit too busy if you don't have privileged access (which I didn't).

Here are a few from the day, I tried to vary the styles a bit hope they work OK.

Finally, for anyone that ever doubted the sharpness / IQ of their Sigma 150-500 lens, here's a 100% crop of the above image:

Comment and criticism welcome as always.

Sincere thanks to George Carman for getting free access for myself and my Wife Nicky.

Lighting looks nice and soft, maybe move the subject a bit further from the window for even softer light. I think the aperture used is a bit wide, F4 or so would get both eyes sharp, it all depends on the background and how far away / distracting it is. Personally, I would prefer less tightly cropped images than this if they are for family portraits, but I might be off the mark with this as I don't know what style of shot they would like.

Other than that, I think you know what you are doing Alistair, just go with your instinct and don't try something you're not comfortable with.

David
