This is a really, really nice set Bill and very different from what we are used to seeing from you. I like in particular the sharp edges on all these images that makes the definition of leaves and branches stand out and helps to make sense of the chaotic surroundings. Number 1 and 2 set the standard for me, all the set is good, but these two are exceptional.

It looks like a great lens Nigel, certainly very sharp and contrasty. The other thing I notice is the colour reproduction which is excellent. The stand out shots for me in this set are the first and last ones.

I have a trip in mind a bit further South, but we need to wait for the right weather conditions. My recent posts were shot where I'm thinking of, it's easy to get to but could be unexceptional unless the timing is right. It would be accessible from Sheffield, East Midlands, South of England or from the West Midlands if you don't mind a short to medium length drive.

Keep eyes open for more details if the conditions come right.

A really excellent set of images, the use of the ultra-wide lens has paid dividends here. I don't mind the stretching of the faces at the edges of the frame, this is not important for me with images like these.

There are lots of us in the Sheffield area, not sure if this is too far from you?

Thank you for the additional comments everyone, as mentioned I enjoyed taking these shots and usually when that happens the results seem to be better, or maybe that's just me looking at things with rose coloured spectacles!

A lovely shot, crisp and clear with just the right length of exposure. It is a slight shame about the positioning of the bench, but even so it's a great image/

Number 2 for me is my preference from the first two images and I like the hint of colour in the second version. The first shot is certainly very intriguing, but doesn't hit my hot button like the second image does.

A great start to the five.

Thanks all for the comments, I must admit I really enjoyed taking these shots. Although I only had about 90 minutes before meeting up with the missus for Breakfast, it was 90 minutes well spent and also gave me the chance to use the K-01 for some landscape work. It has proved to be a very capable camera, the equal of my K-5IIs for images like these.

If we get the right type of weather conditions I might publicise the location and organise a trip down there one day this Winter. I'm thinking of cold, crisp weather when you get mist rising from water in the early morning and when there is frost or snow on the ground.

For the money, you can't beat a 55-300 lens, the DA L plastic mount versions (like mine) are quite cheap nowadays. Every time I use my 55-300 I am amazed how good it is. It even bears up well on the K-3 and can handle the resolution of this camera, also it focusses very accurately on this body, should be good on a K30.
