Easy for me. It's because I don't have a iPhone. And the cheap Android phone that I do have has a camera which matches the phone's cheapness.
Anyway, a 'proper' camera is much more fun and that's what a hobby is all about.

Completely agree. Anyway, a 'proper' camera is much more fun and that's what a hobby is all about.

I do have a high end android phone with a great camera, but there is little joy in using it to capture the images I like best - no joy, no hobby!

I admit I have mistaken the odd camera photo with those taken on a DSLR however I like the feel of a real camera with a viewfinder. Welcome to the Forum by the way.

Horses for courses. This is a flat plane, unencumbered shot that only has two criteria. Exposure (bang on) focus (bang on). It is clinically precise. All mobile phones ought to be able to do this. Now turn it three quarter view with a twig in the way and reflective leaves as a background ??
