Any thoughts on how i could have given this shot more impact?

I know increasing aperture would have blurred the background, but I wanted the building in focus. Anybody got any other ideas?

Was reading somewhere about photographing water drops.
Same thing may apply here; try bouncing the flash off coloured card,
this gets colour and light into the image, but no direct reflections.

Can't we just ban him?
I agree
Makes me wonder why I even bother sometimes.
Still at least I have something to aspire to.

do you have to be so damn good at b&w shots?!?!
I agree, the lighting on the central girder is outstanding, why don`t my shots look like this.

if there are any known issues with the K20 I should be aware of I am grateful for being informed.
Got my K20 last January, it has been an absolute joy to use, I know there where issues with earlier production runs but I have had no problems at all. Oh, and it`s a great way of building muscles in your neck and arms.

Not having AF never stopped me taking great pictures and never stopped me enjoying photography
If af is not important then why do the comparison? that said K20 af can hunt a bit in low light, but so can they all. Off course the K7 has af assist, is smaller and lighter.

I would wait a month or two and watch the price of K20 fall, not needing af you could get some great manual lenses with the cash saved. If it`s to heavy for you then compare in your hand when the K7 becomes available. If size is important then it`s probably the K7. Expensive but it should last until your kids grow up.

Well put, let's be positive
I agree, the only reservation I had when I decided to get my K20 was the lack of an upgrade path. Now I have it in the K7, so when in about 3 years I am ready to upgrade the K7 will probably not break the bank.

Like the lizard, but would prefer it if you had included the tail, or perhaps had got more in front of him. . TBH flower shots don`t do much for me, and cannot coment on macro dof but clearly the stamen to the right is out of focus.

so it doesn't matter if you don't need it or think it's silly.
