I like ironwork with rivets in it, must have been molished sometime ago to have been constructed like that. Very interesting shot.

It makes all my attempts at black & white look really poor, still it gives me something to aspire to, keep it up.

Nice and bold shot, fantastic. I guess it doesn't look shabby in colour either...but I think b&w is the right choice here.
I try to find fault with this shot but you are making it rather hard...

Thanks Bob, Dave, Mark, Shim, Techno' and Ralf, appreciate it.
Bob, i've always been interested in shapes, tones and textures in my photography. These are the things that suit B&W very well, as well as mood and drama in landscape photography.
In processin' B&W shots, I try to follow what Ansel Adams did usin' the zone system, in obtainin' a full range of tones in a photograph.
Of course its a totally different approach in digital.
Dave, this was the first shot of five images. The last four had horrible clipped out highlights on the girders due to the light changin', and were unusable.
The reason why I took more shots was that I wanted to take advantage of the sky and its cloud formations.
I was lucky with this shot, as the scene was a nightmare to meter for.
Ralf, thats good to read.
