Thanks for the comments. I thought that the small bendy tripod or the monopod with legs might prove helpful as I do a lot of hill walking and would really like a light way of stabilising the camera. My monopod is quite heavy but very sturdy and the tripod is quite cumbersome. The trek tech bean bag sounds useful as it is waterproof - good for the uk uplands.

RR - Thanks for the links. The trouble is you need to try these sorts of things in the environment they will be used. I can't even find a local shop that stocks this sort of thing so i can see it.

Alan - I think that the magnet is useful for a quick link. Who would know if the magnet could damage the camera?


K10d - Now a bean bag is perhaps a good idea as i could store emergency food in it!!! When I searched on the 7 day shop they did not have any. What is a good filling for the bean bag?

I have not seen the gear before and I don't know who sells it. Does anybody have any experience of this gear?

All our meetings are open to all. We are all at different levels but share a common enjoyment of drinking coffee, eating lunch,afternoon tiffin and of course taking the ocasional photography with a Pentax or GX camera.
