Perhaps the high street retailer is fighting back as Jacobs have also just opened a shop in Albion Street, Leeds.

They moved out years ago leaving big hole for Pentax users etc.

Doik

I appreciate your help. Luckily the site is only about 40 minutes away and it is superb walking country. My turty hound always needs a very long walk.

Now where can I see the sea trout? I can see lots of challenges starting to develop.

Dave, I think you have missed the boat this year have a look at the rod caught fish table 8..Link

Thanks for looking that up Doik.

However I am game to have a look.
As Polchraine said the general time for the upper reaches of the river Ribble is Mid Oct - mid November. On the same river lower down at Paythorne near Clitheroe the Sunday nearest the 20th November is traditonally known as Salmon Sunday. People pack onto the bridge over the river to watch the spectacle and then have lunch in the pub. (Fish and chips)
I have also checked some wildlife records (2007) and salmon were reported to be leaping around this time at these falls.

Pentaxian Unfortunately the fishing round here is privately owned. Otherwise....

Amin it would have been great to have you along I am sure you would enjoy the calm of the Yorkshire Dales and the friendly people.

Any more suggestions gratefully received.

Tis the season for salmon to leap and I would like to get some shots with my new k20d. I think I have found a place a few miles away where I could see this specatacle from the river bank as they go up a short waterfall. What suggestions do you have for lens, camera settings etc....

Thanks

Include a bid to the Sports Council and claim that you are developing an integrated approach to the olympics.
