Excellent set Mike, the Grey Heron and the Red Start are the pick of the set for me, an excellent lens shown to its max

Very impressed with all but particularly like the Egret with its leg raised. Also impressed with the Redstart, well captured against the nicely blurred background.

There's so much swagger in the first shot

Great set!

I would be pleased to get just one of these! Lovely work.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Nice set Mike, lovely to see the K1 and the big zoom produce such nice BIF images in skilled hands

Fabulous shots.

Favourite is definitely the Egret mono and agree 100% with HarisF1's description of it.

Those Egrets are like Herons on steroids.

Great combo as Daron says.

Thanks for the comments.

I must admit my favourite is the first one as well, the problem with it was that it was shot through some long grass that put a shadow over both wings just leaving the main body clear. By processing it in black and white the shadows don't show anywhere near as much ... and I actually prefer it that way anyway.
