I can't see me ever buying a 31 Ltd.

I have a K28 which is absolutely superb optically and is available for 100 euros and under. Have never compared it to a 31 as I've never had one but I think I'd rather save my dosh for something else.

I'm going to add what is probably a surprise to most..the 17-70 is still by far my most frequently used lens, very underrated IMHO

Many people do say that. Personally, I'm not so keen. I made the mistake of comparing the IQ to my K28/3.5, which to me beats it hands down. Granted, 28 isn't 17-70.

I see why they call it God's own country now. Each one's a beauty. No 2s the one for me.
Only people from Yorkshire call it that!

Nice shots, Shaun!

You have a good point, Dr O. I'd love to go to Patagonia and that could be exactly what I'd do........now you've thought of it!

mannesty has one for sale now, I think......but only for a day or two longer.

Sorry about that. I've deleted my comment that mdc has just replied to as I was talking crap.

I was thinking about my Super Tak M42 lens.

Well, we go on about how cheap they are but I didn't get any decent results until I invested in a Katzeye split-prism focusing screen. Before that, focusing with manual glass was too difficult and yielded poor results.

An M50/1.7 in good condition might go for 30 quid but a Katzeye will set you back another hundred or so.
Never had a problem myself. If there is a problem, and that would only be if there was low light, then I just open up the lens to focus then select the required aperture afterwards.

Lens provisionally sold, subject to payment, here in France.

Thanks for looking.

I agree with everything Dr O said.

My K55mm f1.8 cost 25 euros plus postage. I really splashed out on a mint K28mm f3.5, mind you, at 100 euros, but it is a complete bargain even at that heady price.

I love them.
