The link still didn't work for me, John, even after you had corrected it.

But, it seems, no matter. All's well that ends well.

Thanks John and CMW!!

Thanks for that so far, John. I haven't got the E2 fluid, just ordinary, whatever that is. I tried their website, www.photosol.com but can't connect to it...if it still exists!

Are there not two types of Eclipse fluid, one of which should not be used on Pentax?
I'd be interested to know if there is as I've got a bottle in the cupboard that I've not used yet.

I couldn't give a monkey's step cousin twice removed about the normal test images of charts and the queen of hearts. So I'm grateful to see some real world output. Regardless of what anyone might think is the point of all this it has really helped me and I know a couple of others who were curious about the comparison. So thanks to David for his efforts.
+1 for this. I thank David for his efforts.

I have a K-r and any move to any type of K5 would be a major step up. This thread, amongst others, is helping me decide where my hard-earned (well, not really) dosh is going to go when I've saved enough. The difference between a used K5 and a new or used K5IIs is quite considerable. And I don't even know what the next generation camera will be and how much it will cost, though I probably will be the time I've saved any money.

The more "evidence" of quality differences the better, in my view!

Bloody hell! Would love to see Steven Wilson or Porcupine Tree. I have so much of their stuff it's untrue. Most people have never heard of them!

PS Never been inclined to post in this thread before.......

From what I can see the second shot is sharper on the grey Pentax box but the first is sharper around the camera area (especially the on/off switch and Sigma EX lens) which to me means there is a focus difference somewhere.
I'm sure David will tell us, but it looks like the camera in the photos is not in the same location in both shots. The 2nd shot has the camera slightly closer to the camera taking the shot, thus making it more out of focus.
But the '00FG' on the front of the flash box and 'Pentax' on the grey box look sharper in focus to me on the K5 MK1 image
Yes, you are right. Mike makes a good point after.

I'm not sure these examples prove anything one way or another, David. I wish they did. Or do I?

I have a K-r at the moment. I know any form of K5 would be an improvement. I suspect that a K5I would be better value for me given the 2nd hand price at the moment. Or just wait for something better to come along!

Hi Luca,

I don't blame them! I have this lens and it is superb. I'd never sell it. I got mine after scouring ebay. They come up from time to time if you are prepared to look on a regular basis.

Cheers,

ds

Been getting used to a recently acquired (and repaired) 10-20 and I'm beginning to like it a lot. Quite a bit of distortion at the edges but you get experience in handling it. Nice colours, sharp enough.

The reason I plumped for this and not the 8-16 was the filter issue.
