Seems perfectly good logic to me. Maybe you will want the faster lenses at a later date,, but by that time maybe you will have discovered what range you use most and can buy a nice fast prime for low light or big prints.

Thanks Dr.
Well done Prieni, lovely shot, again

There was nothing serene about my shot, I can tell you! This shot, one of the first, was the only one where Molly actually looked at the book! I had a 5 year old holding the softbox on the floor and bending it down to see over it, and a 4 year old desperate to be in the shot. It was 4pm so they just wanted to go mad

Interesting point about the dark bit, I'll try cropping that a bit more.

I wonder if people think the added noise was a success?

My camera often changes back to 0 for no apparent reason.

I can be really stupid sometimes, I just realised I looked at the exif for the image above... derrr...

If you look at the exif for an image from the camera in question it should be a more reliable figure.

I would be interested in this if only someone would pay me :

I can vouch for all faststone products - I just love them, despite using PhotoShop since 92.
faststone resizer can batch process and will do borders and watermarks and a lot besides IN ONE HIT.

Sorry Matt, I wasn't being rude
It was a scenario similar to yours which led to my downfall. I normally use the USB cable, but recently over a period of several days I've been doing a lot of work, swapping 3 cards for speed and backup reasons and at some point I forgot (distracted probably) and later took off to walk dog and child without the card.

Of course Molly was looking impossibly cute and the light was perfect and all I needed was a few Megs to play with.

Wow! so many people missing the point...
I'm with you Mike. I have found myself lugging a bloody great camera and grip and telephoto all over place but unable to use it because I dashed out without a card. I have 3 super duper extreme IIIs but they are no use to man or beast if you have a blond (bald) moment.

You seem to have incredibly steady hands Mike
if I'm not over 250th at 300mm I can forget it.
I think the your old combination was much sharper, but you can't really go wrong with the range on the Bigma can you?

Cool review and great Wedding shots. He had two great lenses there (along with the kit) not surprised he liked it
Someone ought to inform him or WarehouseExpress that the top dials can be used to adjust ISO, as that was one of only two gripes!

I think the border on the right should be solid, small and tasteful. (or nothing at all)
I would make the image on the right high key, and the hole right side white and clean. The font should be san-serif - clean and tidy and aligned with the image edges in an invisible grid. No text effects at all.

Personally, I would also wear a white shirt under the jacket to create a nice V and lighten up the image some more.

The image on the left could be chopped in half and straightened, just showing the old side, as the 'After' is provided on the right side of the leaflet. With the left image half as wide, you would have space down the middle for nice neat typography with no frills.

All v. subjective of course
