The raw editor will indeed keep a record of your settings for each file but usually some local adjustments are necessary at which point I save as PSD.
I shoot RAW plus JPEG and just trawl through the JPEGs or display the JPEGs if I'm out and about.

The textures are great, the single cob web kicks off all sorts of narratives.
The tiny red bug is actually so dominant and perfectly placed that the image is all about him despite his size.
It would be a very cool act to have the confidence to print this as it is, at A3 and put it on your wall - I guarantee you'll love it
I would like to see some real close-ups, low down with that gorgeous rock texture under his feet, but this isn't the file to use.

You will loose all the flexibility and non-destructive editing of the raw file and fill up your hard drive with TIFFs which you still have to edit?
Personally, I don't know the answer to your question because I never do it. Every file is treated differently and usually the top most working file is saved as PSD and further down will be a bunch of JPEGs at different sizes and sharpnesses.

I'll definitely put some comparisons up when I get some time. Kriss was good enough to let me pay in installments (what a star!) so I'm working like a demon to get the funds together... well not right now obviously

That's interesting about the picture quality of the two.
The W60 is OK (not great) but is very useful when things get wet.
Chris at Clearwater paddling has the W60 also and his site is full of beautiful pictures taken with that and his earlier Optio.
He finds that the waterproofing is fine until you get water on the lens - then the picture if compromised just like any other camera, possibly more so with such a small lens.
I find that action shots (my preference) are so difficult with the slow response times that it is almost unusable and I find myself using the K10 and hoping I don't fall over, or overboard!

Looks like Rob is taking the prize for fishiest images so far...
