Can I put one in my bike?
You'll need two Don - counter rotating, otherwise when you blip the throttle you'll end up on the pavement.

2, 2, 2 Love it.
Looks like you need to get yourself an old Moto Guzzi - you can look at the cylinders all day, and rest your legs on them when you're riding along in the winter

Wow! thanks Lance. As soon as I saw that first image I understood why they are sought after.
That's gorgeous !
If I had that lens it would stay wide open

Rob, I agree with what you said, but your numbers are misleading (or incorrect)
JPEGs are 8 bits per RGB channel - 256 levels of grey (tones) per RGB channel - 24 bit in total. or 16 million colour permutations.
TIFFs can hold 16 bits per channel but you would normally finish editing and save in 8 bit mode so potentially the same amount of colours as a JPEG but JPEG compression makes assumptions about visual perception and groups or discards data as it sees fit.
Always save as TIFF if you have space and bandwidth on your network or you intend to do further editing.
If you compress your TIFF as JPEG then you will probably have the worst of both worlds!

This is why I said f8 not the lower (wider) figures quoted elsewhere.
Then, with a wide angle lens you just get the focus roughly right and leave it there for the entire group of shots. Spontaneity is everything!
If you are struggling to get enough ambient light with f8 then you will have to open it up or increase the ISO.
Remember all my advice has been for artistic shots rather than bankers.

In my experience, in nightclubs (or anywhere within 400yrds of one) people love having a photographer flashing away... the problem for the photographer is getting rid of the blighters.
There's no reason why flash needs to be harsh.

Gigs are a different story altogether.

Looking forward to seeing the results Jon

As per the link, Pentax don't agree either.
That's just a rumour isn't it?

I still love the idea of a square format using the current size.
That way all our current DA lenses will still work, we will get FF in one direction and won't need to rotate the camera for portrait.

Why not just carry spare 'charged' batteries
I do normally, especially now I have 'discovered' oneloop batteries.
But whatever you put in there, will discharge partly and loose its power and speed even tho' it's usable for ages.
The SLA will stay at 6v and have enormous capacity to draw from, for a lot longer. So in a high-pressure situation like weddings and sport you just need it to work consistently for long periods.
I don't expect any drastic improvement in speed but I do expect the 58's best performance for about 4 times as long.
