Well you're welcome any time you're this way.

Or I'll let you know if I'm ever back in Oz. We did Sydney, Blue Mountains, east coast, Magnetic Island, Cairns and Alice Springs about 12 years ago - loved it. That's what prompted me to get an SLR (not until I got back home though), we stayed at some lodges near Blackheath, up by 'Evans Lookout', and the views and wildlife were just stunning.

I really liked the little 'volcanoes' the ants made at the entrance to their tunnels, should have guessed then I'd end up on my knees in front of bugs half the time.

Saw a Lyre bird and a Copperhead nearby too, the wife nearly put her hand on the snake when she stumbled.

I ran a macro workshop today, and guess what - I had a K10D user there! Second time in a row that I've had a Pentax user along, which is a really nice change from the tide of Nikon and Canon.

This particular gentleman came down from Norfolk, and he's been lurking here for a while, so hopefully he might post in the future. Hello Malcolm!

I really should be on commission from Pentax, the amount of promotion I give them. Malcolm gave me a helping hand today!

Anyway, here's a pic I took - an 'Earthball' (type of fungi) amongst Star Moss, spotted by Malcolm. Should really have popped a polariser on, but I don't like to take too long doing my own thing on a day like today.

Oh, and thanks for the link Dan.
No problem. Did you see they also do two lamps on a 6ft tripod for about £22? Might be useful.

Er, wasn't that always there? Had the front cover showing the scrambler bike for ages, and I nearly sent a message to someone to say it was high time it got updated.

It was more about what was in the magazine, rather than the other benefits too, but I'm sure it was there.

Is this an actual Pentax advert, or a summary or review of cameras by the mag itself?

That's what Gwyn has just described.

If you have an image uploaded to the web somewhere (ie, your own webspace, or pbase etc), it will have a URL, something like this:

http://www.DanielBridge.co.uk/pentax/hoverfly1.jpg

if you then put Comment Image
at the end, it will embed the image in your post, like this:

Hope that helps,

Is it just me, or has the forum (SubRed style) gone a bit lurid? Seems more orangey than it used to.

Excellent shots Chirpy.

I used the 70-300 Sigma for a while before I got my 105mm Macro, and the results weren't bad, but as you say, a proper macro is sharper, you just need to be a lot more careful approaching your subject.

GALOOT!! We had an agreement!!!

I take it all back, your self portrait was rubbish!

It's fun judging, isn't it? I was getting all confused about how many 2nd and 3rd places and commendeds I was awarding, Thomas has all this to look forward to.
