...i think you are right with its name : But Dan will know for sure
Shield Bugs? Know for sure? Dan? None of those belong in the same sentence.

However, from this page I reckon Hefty could be right.

If it's 1/250s at f/5.6, it should be 1/125s at f/8, because there's a full stop between f/5.6 and f/8, so you need to double the length of exposure. 1/180s should give f/6.7.

I suspect the lightmeter is rounding the readings up and down. Try it and see!

Poor duck! Excellent shot Chirpy, looks as sharp as the duck looks worried.

And foxes...we had a set in the garden
A set of foxes? Did they come boxed or did you get them off ebay?

I don't know, only 2.30pm and you're on the sauce again. Of course you meant either a badger's 'sett', or a fox's 'den' or 'earth'. Really George, your standards are slipping!

Dear Dan, thanks for the tip I'll try that tonight it sounds like a cool idea.
I can't take credit for it, I got my set from Mannesty and he'd already figured it out and done it.

Meeting up would be fine, I can't do Tuesday nights either (band practice), but any other night, or over at Hanningfield reservoir (I work for Essex Wildlife Trust) at the weekend would be fine.

Let me know when suits.

Hi John,

There's a simple modification you can make to these tubes to allow the the aperture to be controlled by the body. A small area of paint can be scraped away to left of the contacts and this will allow the final body contact to work (there are 7 contacts on the body and only 6 on the tubes).

Here's a pic:

£35 seems a fair price, if I was after some I'd take you up on it, but I've now got 3 sets (only one are 'A' tubes though, same set as yours and they work great, even with a macro lens at greater than 1:1 ).

Dan

P.S. Your sensor really does need a clean. If you want to meet up one day I've got the Eclipse fluid and swabs to do it if you want.

The price looks pretty good about 680Quid in your money. But i'm also thinking if i leave it a few months longer it will come down further.
About £711 according to the exchange rate calculator I just used, which is cheaper than SRS by about £30. A good price, but as you say, if you can wait a bit it will come down some more.
