My advice for a lens cap and strap would be ebay, assuming you want genuine ones. You can also buy a kit to replace the light seals for about £7 or so, if it hasn't already been done they will have turned gooey with age. You should also be able to get a genuine paper manual from there, although the MV isn't complicated. The manuals I have found online were PDFs so you can easily enlarge them to a readable size - the originals were in pretty small print!

Assuming it still has the standard Pentax-M 50mm lens you will want a 49mm clip-on lens cap with the "Asahi Pentax" lettering on a smooth background.

The original strap was thin webbing with a rubber shoulder pad, the buckles are the type where you push a lever down to lock them in place. Buckles and the little plastic lug protector bands should have "Asahi Pentax" stamped/moulded on.

You can of course fit any 49mm lens cap and any strap you fancy, but these would have been the original parts.

The AF160 or AF200S flashguns will both work with this camera, when fully charged the camera will illuminate an icon in the viewfinder and automatically select the sync speed.

Nope.

A client can specify what tools/materials they want to be used on a project. It just doesn't happen often as most clients have the sense to understand that employing a pro means getting someone who knows the most suitable kit to do the job and will be able to use it properly.

I hate to tell them this, but an old MX, 50/1.7 and roll of decent film would probably match any of those cameras providing the scanner was up to it...

I don't see any digital medium format gear or the Sony full frame models there either.

This is, of course, why you need to be careful buying flashguns.

The AF200/280/400T will all work perfectly with your DSLR in their non-TTL modes, but the AF220T will not as it only has TTL mode.

Personally I'd want the MZ-6. The *ist has the crippled K mount so you can only use AF lenses, the single-digit MZ series bodies have a full K mount which will work with all your lenses.

I might also look at the MZ-5 or MZ-5n, these have the KAF2 mount which allows the use of Power Zoom lenses and the controls are more like those of the manual bodies.

Whichever MZ series you buy it's worth looking for the AA battery grip, you can then run the camera on cheaper and easier to find batteries.

I suspect one thing which may have an impact on perceived sharpness is the fact that it's much easier to crop images to a ridiculous degree now. Rather than being limited by the height your enlarger head can go up to you can simply keep pressing the button. Lenses which were perfectly adequate in the days when the majority of people got their pack of prints back from the lab and never enlarged them further are left somewhat embarrassed when pushed to this level.

You'll probably want a better tripod now...

Look at the Redsnapper range before spending twice as much on a brand name. Nothing wrong with the RS build quality and they're very pleasant to use too.

But you can just get up when the sun is due to rise at any time of year though? Time is a human construct, the sun doesn't care whether we call its setting 1800 or 1900hrs!

Can the W90 shoot video too?

I can think of an excellent test of its waterproofing if so. Borrow a 4x4, strap it to the bumper and drive over Strata Florida when the rivers are in their usual winter condition, that'll test it!

I think it may be time to get the bird feeders out and swap to the living room with the coal fireplace. Also want to finish undercoating a spoiler for the car so I can get it professionally painted (keeps the price down if I do the basic work then have it sprayed with a colour matched top coat).

I'd rather just stay on GMT all year round. Less confusing than fiddling with the clocks at two arbitrarily chosen times of year. Putting digital clocks back an hour is a real pain.
